“Lonely isn’t being alone. It’s the feeling that nobody cares.”— Unknown
“On first drafts: It is completely raw, the sort of thing I feel free to do with the door shut — it’s the story undressed, standing up in nothing but its socks and undershorts.”— Stephen King
thoughts on v's reaction to jug's milk freak-out??
the framing of it is very interesting! They keep showing V’s POV on things Jughead does, the date he went on, her staring at him in the diner, now the transition from Veronica feeling out of place because no one celebrates halloween, to Jughead acting weird, then back to her reaction to him.
I think she was concerned for him, like you can hear everyone whispering about him being weird and laughing at him, and she’s obviously upset by that too, she’s not laughing. She obviously sees him different to the way everyone else does, and I think they wanted to show that she wants to check in on him but she’s resisting the urge to rescue him again. Because I think she still has feelings for him but she’s scared of what that means.
Veronica’s in a really vulnerable spot and pretending everything is fine, the party is a way for her to fill a void of all she is missing, and also bring people together who feel out of place and unsafe like her. But then we see at the end of the night, everyone is paired off or going on dates and getting closer to each other as friends, and Veronica is alone again.
Like also Jughead bringing up his fancy trailer again, these are little hints to remind the audience of their connection and in Veronica’s case that she misses him.
I’d really enjoy to see Veronica feeling like she can tell Betty about those weird feelings she has for Jug. It seems like Betty is going to share how she feels about Archie, but she feels bad about those really intense feelings she has had + her mom, and Ronnie then decides to note that she has noticed Jug first moving forward with Tabitha, and now he is helping Ethel (to tell her story) and she is going to feel like she was just another girl.
But, I can also see that she is jealous that Betty has parents that care so deeply about her life. Eventually we get more about the Lodges I’m sure, but I really do want the focus to be around friendships and romance.
Because it would be nice to have the girls be open with each other and have fun with Clay and Kevin.
Also - the way Jug treasures his train car is so dang cute.
Yo what if Veronica’s “I’m jealous” is her confiding in Betty about Jughead helping Ethel and defending her 😭
